designing a small propane kiln?

hey all,

I have been thinking about building a small propane kiln. I am thinking
about 1 cu ft or 1.5cu ft kiln. I was thinking of a small updraft design
with the burner on the bottom and having the a piece of insulated
stovepipe (the flue) coming out of the top of the kiln. I was thinking
about designing the top as a single piece that could be lifted off to load
and unload. I was thinking of building the kiln a single layer thick(like
2.5" thick). I would like to make the kiln easy to breakdown. I have never
built a kiln. anyone have any advice or see any design flaws? I have a
couple of questions:

1.what size burner do I need and where can I buy a burner?
2.which would be easier buying softbrick, or making castable? also for
softbrick for a kiln the size I am talking about how many bricks do I need?
3.with a kiln this size how long would it take fire to cone 10?
4.how much propane would a cone 10 firing use? would a 20 or 50lb tank
work?

thanks,
