I throw a number of shapes on tiles. I have used the white ones, and I have
used quarry tile. Works like a charm (whatever that means since there are
bad charms)
Make a bat out of a piece of 1/2" outdoor plywood. (Put the square, odd
shaped piece on the wheel, draw a circle with a pencil, cut out.) Using an
extant bat as template, or using your keen and well-trained eye, mark the
places to drill so your bat sits on the bat pins.
Place a tile on the bat on the wheel and center it....Draw its outline on
your bat.
With 1/4" quarter-round molding cut about an inch shorter than the side of
a tile--i.e. for a 6"tile cut the piece 5"--frame the outline
of your tile. Nail and glue down.
The reason to make the pieces of molding shorter than the side of the tile
is to give you a wee bit of wiggle room to get the tile off.
Works very well.
