I have written Skutt about a wiring diagram for the above Skutt, but they
have not responded through email yet and I am trying to get this thing
fixed. I had the ring connectors between the middle ring and the top ring
short out after 30 years.
I have heavy duty wiring for kilns and
I straight wired the top switch, but may have a wire that is not quite
connected right or the top switch has gone bad, I am not sure yet. I did
not want to put in a new switch until I made sure the wires connected to the
switch were correctly.
I bisque fired yesterday and the kiln went to temperature fine within my
normal firing time but when I looked in the kiln when the switches were on
medium all the elements were glowing but the top one element. When I turned
it on high all the elements came on and everything looked fine.
After I opened the kiln and I turned the top switch on medium, it hummed but
I did not get any heat from that one element.
Is there anyone that could describe the top wiring to the switch for me so I
can make sure the elements and wiring is connected to the switch correctly
before I put in a new switch?
