The Greater Ithaca Art Trail OPEN STUDIO WEEKENDS are almost here!
October 14, 15 and October 21, 22, noon to 6pm each day!
For those of you who don't know, the Art Trail is a self-guided tour
of 46 artists' studios
throughout Tompkins County. On these two weekends all 46 studios are
open.
No need to call ahead - just get in your car and go!
There is no cost - just a beautiful drive with an array of amazing
artists to visit.
You need the map! You can download the maps and get a great
deal of information about each artist from
http://www.arttrail.com
The trail includes painters, photographers, printmakers, sculptors,
ceramists, glass artists, fiber artists,
makers of fine furniture and functional art and jewelers.
Please come on the trail! It is great fun and a wonderful opportunity
to meet artists,
talk to them about their work, see where their work is made, see
their process and of course, buy local art.
There is a companion event on Friday night, October 6th, 5pm to 8pm.
The State of the Art Gallery, 120 W. State St.,
Ithaca, is having an opening reception (please come!) for a show
featuring the Art Trail artists. This is a great way
to meet all the artists and see their work all in one locationbefore
setting out on the Art Trail. The show is up for the month
of October
