I just recently discovered that there are many and various pottery videos
online on
www.youtube.com

For example, here is a search in the Arts and Animation category:

y&search_sort=&search_category=1

There are some wonderful 6-8 minute ones of Fong Choo and Jane
Hockensmith-Reich by something called Artist in Residence. (They are
actually shorts to advertise hour-long videos sold by Artist in Residence,
I'm not sure if those are DVD's or maybe downloads.)

I haven't had time to view most of these, but I bookmarked it, and there
seem to be more there today than there were a week ago. I think anyone can
put videos on YouTube. (There does seem to be more than a sprinkling of
porn to step around and over.)

I love youtube for those videos and for those who take the time to share them. There is a hilarious one with an asian woman coning up and coning it too tall too thin and having the wheel on fast it was wobbling all over....and she was hysterical because of what it looked like. The men...well they were too.

Anyway a good way to just watch others and how they pot. I think it's Sondahl, but I could be wrong, shows how to throw a bowl in about 30 seconds yep small bowl and it then mushes it together with 2 other bowls. I don't think any trimming could be done on those but hey if you are good enough...who needs to trim?

I good good resource for a variety of different styles.
