i was wondering if anyone has the recipe for matt long's claybody? i have
a Joe Christensen cup made from matt long's porcelain and it seems to
flash very well. any info on the recipe would be greatly appreciated.
here are two recipes i have used in the past with good success. from val
cushings book.
flashing porcelain i'm wondering if matt longs body is similar
possibly containing alumina and helmar.

epk 30 also any input on firing methods to increase
tenn. ball #9 20 flashing would be great. i have been firing
f-4 feldspar 20 soda using gail nichol's method of
flint 15 introducing the soda as a solid mixed with
alumina hydrate 5 whiting instead of spraying. i try to fire in
macaloid 1 oxidation and reduce later after soda is
introduced. have also been experimenting
with reduction cooling with mixed results.
