Dear mel jacobson,=20
Whenever you present this instruction I fall about laughing at the image =
of a person standing at an upright wheel with one leg high in the air =
trying to get their elbow against their femur bone. What a cartoon !!!
One simple ways of centring clay is to grasp it, with you hands crossed, =
at the far side then lean backwards allowing the mass of your torso to =
give the force.
Thinking of you today as I was slip trailing a group of plates, putting =
a medallion on their undersides.
Best regards,
Ivor.

Ivor:
The trick is to place the heel of one's foot atop the edge of the splash
pan. Shorter-reaching potters may find it necessary to rest their calf on
the pan instead. Do not wear roller skates while attempting this, but by all
means, do wear pants. A skirt simply will not do!
Of course, the cat will not be amused, being denied the "necessity" of your
lap for her afternoon "siesta", but what can one do?
"America's Funniest Home Videos" is still soliciting submissions....
Best,
Wayne Seidl
What is the sound of a one-handed potter centering?......
Slap... DAMN! SLAP!....Damn!
