June brings up a VERY important issue.
Before you make ANY changes to a system you know is working as it should,
always do a backup...Do it to media NOT connected to your hard drive. Mark
it, put it by safe so it's there when you need it.
Yeah, I know, it's a royal PITA for older operating systems, but you will be
very, very glad you've done it when your system decides that the new
software is "not playing well with others" and stops, as happened to me last
weekend.

If you are using Windows XP, go to Start > Help and Support > System
Restore > Create a Restore Point (or Restore my system) may bail you out
someday. THEN back it up.

I installed a program that worked great with an older version of Microsoft
Office. When I upgraded Office, everything froze, because the other program
didn't play well with it. In "uninstalling" the (now) offensive program, my
Windows registry got "hosed", and I ended up doing a complete reformat and
reinstall on the hard drive...TWICE. Four and a half days of work to bring
it all back to stable and operating properly.
Without a backup, for me that would have meant 19 years of business records
GONE, 10 years of e-mail archives and documents and client correspondence
GONE. It's just not worth it.

Don't take unnecessary chances folks. Back it up first.

Best,

who now has "qwertyuiop[]\" permanently dented into my forehead and Gail
Phillips in the background saying "I told you so!I warned you!!"......yes
dear...yes dear...

Yesterday, Idownloaded the latest, safer, Explorer and it majorly messed up
my desktop. After about a hour of computer hell, I finally got the desktop
back to normal! :-(
