who sent photo of kiln shed?

In the last 10 days or so someone send a post and included a link to
a photo of a very nice metal kiln shed.
I really liked the concept of this shed. For my purposes, I'd change
it a little. Could that person, (female I think)
send the link to me offline? I want to discuss the design as a
starting point .
I searched the archives but the subject line didn't reflect the
inclusion of the kiln shed photo.
I can't remember who sent it. (another "craft" moment).
Thanks. Things down here in SOUTH Texas are going along. My studio
construction has entered phase 1.
Kiln shed will probably be phase 3. Everything rusts. I hope a metal
kiln shed will last a little while.
The weather is gorgeous. I spent some time yesterday sealing boards
outside in the carport. Great breeze. Cool view of water and birds.
It was 20 in Montana. They have had snow several times already. I
hope to get out and meet people soon. I met some folks from
Edinburgh, TX and got to participate in making bowls for the Food
Bank's Rio Valley Empty Bowls project. Met some artists at a gallery
opening. Are there any Clayarters in the near vicinity? Matamoros?
Raymondville? Harlingen? San Antonio and Gay are 5-6 hours north.
Taylor Hendrix in Rockport is closer but still a trek. I am planning
a trip there as soon as I can get away. Rocket Scientist husband is
away in Boston. Thank you Clayarters as being my social world while I
am in a new place.

Dear Marcia,

I didn't send the photo of the kiln shed, but I do have a metal kiln=20
shed that we built about 4 years ago to house our rebuilt MFT.
It has an overhanging metal roof (over an open walkway) so that the=20
kiln car can be pulled into the studio for loading and unloading=20
through a sliding barn door. Ours has metal studs, metal siding and=20
roofing, and is lined on the inside with cement board for stability.
A friend of ours who does a lot of commercial construction planned it=20
for us, and recommended the cement board. He also recommended a couple=20
of his construction men who work with metal studs all the time to put=20
it up for us. They did it in two days, and we put on the roofing and=20
siding. They had all the necesssary equipment and knowhow for working=20
with metal studs. We have been very pleased with it.

I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Marcia, don't know if my kiln shed is the one that you are referring to. =
It
is metal and the photo isn't very clear, but it was simple to build for =
the
purpose of my Alpine kiln. If you want more details, I can tell you =
some as
we built it inside our house one winter as we made it portable holding
together with bolts. Lasted a very long time. We built it to =
accommodate
the chimney and updraft situation of the kiln. I show it on Flickr if =
you
want to look it up.

I also have a friend who made a kiln shed for her gas kiln. Perhaps I =
could
ask her for details. She was able to open the whole front with two =
doors so
that she had access to the mechanics.

Thanks. I am designing in my head what I want..using the metal idea
that has been restructured in my ascewd memory.
I guess I'll just take it from there and make it fit what I want.
Thanks. marcia
