Thanks for the clarification on the medical use
material versus the glaze ingredient.
I had a test done where I had to drink a full pint of
the stuff and I swear I would have found it innocuous
if it had not been flavored with "pina colada".
i had a friend in college who was very strange and
took lithium to control a mental disease. he wanted to
go off the grid (another component of the paranoia)
and hounded me to get him ceramic grade lithium so
that he would not have to talk to the doctors any
more.
I did not comply.
chemistry is just a tool for me and not a fascination.
I am usually in search of the great work already
added to the lexicon by others who truly love it, like
bob stryker and chris at kickwheel. Those two really
understand experimentation and quality control at a
manufacturing level. And that makes for good friends
for potters to have.
