Got my wife, who did photo work documenting artist's portfolios and the like
for years using film, the Nikon D50 (6 megapixils) last year. Got this one
as she also has a slew of Nikon lenses.
Before making the purchase, I phoned Nikon tech help and had a long
conversation with a techie about lenses. He responded that the lenses for
film based cameras would work, would not couple to light meter in camera,
but the lenses made specifically for the digital cameras were of such a
better quality than the older lenses, that we might end up getting new
lenses anyway.
Have not put the different lenses to the test yet, but we're very pleased
with the digital camera & lens.
