With woodfire, a good stove and a tall, clean chimney is very important.

My doctor thought my keeping a dog in the house effected my
asthma/allergies. I reported to him this week, that I was dogless
for two months and we did some extra cleaning after Taiko died, but it
didn't help my symptoms. (they have been worse since November.)
And actually, they seem better since Kintaro arrived (probably
psychosomatic, I know.)

It was Kintaro's first day at work: Went on a clay run
with me. Co-op guy was impressed with him. You don't see many Akitas
in Japan. We loaded the clay beside him. Kintaro tried to thank him
with a face wash for putting stuff in our car. Rest of the day he
sat on his bed, in front of my wheel platform, while I threw. Now,
I am the foreigner potter in Mashiko who has an Akita, again.
