Hay Crew,

I guess a man does have to understand his limitations. Having more
enthusiasm than brains I found out what happens to partially built freeze
dryed kiln walls. After the first heavy snow last week cooked off I was
tightning the heavy plastic over the construction and nudged the side
near the door and the wall caved in. I tucked the edges under and called
it quits for this season and will start a new album next spring. I still
might look for stones to fill where I started under the firebox but from
the next few shots this is the end of building for now...

After about 5 attempts "The New Greenfield Village part 2" got loaded to
youtube. It's probably the weather in the phone lines around here messing
with efficency but dialup is always a test in patience. This short is
about their clay mixing equipment, Ryan shows us the potters wheel from
the 1870's, we meet their decorators Ann and Jackie, and we look for the
other master potter Bryan. I really appoligize for not getting their last
names so if Ryan sees this maybe he would fill us in for me and shair
more about their studio. This piece is around 5 minutes.....

And a real part of living in da Nort is huntin season. I'm not much for
it myself but I fished for a long time. Maybe next year when I'm
collecting S.S. I can cut my hours and take time to setup a post. Of
course I'd have to learn to shoot and buy a gun... or I could learn the
bow again. Haven't shot one of those since I was a kid. If I got good at
it maybe a Zen Master would teach me how to shoot to miss. My buddy Dan
from down below is pretty good with a bow. He shot a good sized 9 point
two weeks ago. Got him right in the neck just behind the head. Said it
droped like a stone and didn't go anywhere. I wanted more pics during the
day but it was a but warm so it got processed the next day. It sure has a
funny looking rack. The DNR was real curious. Somebody called it "One of
those paper mill deer." Hummm, kinda makes ya wonder, eh?.....

The last is another shameless plug for the Christmas wreaths. One more
day at Wal*Mart and three days off to concentrate on a little more greens
for the greenhouse and make up a couple dozen wreaths in three different
sizes for orders and family. What I find interesting is I'm taking part
in a Northern tradition of taking local materials and using simple hand
tools make a thing of impermanent beauty. Here is a shot from the middle
of this years album that says it for me and next continues on to this
years first wreath...

It is in the doing we find joy. Have a well fed Thanksgiving and stay in
there!
