The information below is from the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services Administration Website - National Vaccine Injury
Compensation Program -

Is your child worth more than $250,000? That is the initial amount
the US Government will compensate you if your loved one is injured or
dies because of a vaccination. The person who has ongoing needs may
receive more compensation.

In 1986 the US Government set aside funding in the National Vaccine
Injury Compensation Program for all persons injured or killed by
vaccine administration. When you apply, you must agree to release all
claims against the manufacturers, medical personal who administered
the vaccine, and the US Government.

What is so truly sad is the number of people who are able to make it
through the jungle of paperwork and actually receive payment for
damage caused.

$681,974,941.18 has been paid out so far, with attorney fees, it is
$722,693,884.12.

Can the damage or death be proven? Yes, obviously, as stated on the
website. Is it easy? Absolutely not, shown by the figures on the
website. Are all side effects from Mercury? No. Keep reading....

Reasons for Compensation
To be paid, you must prove that:
* the injured person received a vaccine listed on the Vaccine Injury
Table (Table); and

* the first symptom of the injury/condition on the Table as defined
in the Qualifications and Aids to Interpretation (Aids) occurred
within the time period listed on the Table; or

* the vaccine caused the injury; or

* the vaccine caused an existing illness to get worse (significantly
aggravated). In addition, the Court must determine that the injury or
death did not result from any other possible causes.

Types of Payments Awarded
For an injury, you may be paid:
* a reasonable amount for past and future nonreimbursable medical,
custodial care, and rehabilitation costs, and related expenses (There
is no limit on the amount a person with an injury may be paid for
these types of expenses. Payments are based on your vaccine injury
needs.);

* up to $250,000 for actual and projected pain and suffering;

* lost earnings; and/or

* reasonable lawyers' fees and other legal costs or legal costs, not
fees, of petitioners representing themselves, if your claim was filed
on a reasonable basis and in good faith. For a death, you may be paid:
* up to $250,000 as a death benefit for the estate of the deceased; and

* reasonable lawyers' fees and other legal costs or legal costs, not
fees, of petitioners representing themselves, if your claim was filed
on a reasonable basis and in good faith.

We have one grandson who almost died from side effects of a vaccine.
Another grandson who has Asperger's Syndrome, and it is likely his
two brothers do also. The doctors have stated their belief it is due
to vaccines. Can we prove it to the standards set by our
government... not now. We didn't know about this fund in time to
apply.

It is damn hard to collect on these claims. Do I think children need
some vaccines? Yes, I do, a few, in spite of the risks. I get a flu
shot every year. Hypocritical? Yes.

But the one that injured my grandson was for Chicken Pox. The
statistics on that vaccine do not warrant its use, in MY opinion. You
are welcome to yours, but you did not sit by his bedside as he
suffered encephalitis, unable to move even his eyes, rag-doll limp
and struggling to breathe.
