Apropos plaster mixing, I learned to mix "killed plaster" for
patching or repair three different ways.
1) keep mixing small batch of plaster past set point and it will turn
somewhat like putty, apply to wetted area.
2) dip brush into reservoir of water then into pile of dry plaster
3) mix half ground up set plaster with fresh plaster and equal
amounts water
While any of the three 'work', they don't do what they're supposed
to, which is blend in with the color and texture of the attaching
area. There always seems to be some brittleness and the bare color is
never quite right.
I've tried adding white glue and that doesn't do much. What else is
there to make a good, blended, unnoticeable repair?
