Richard Aerni will present a two day demonstration workshop on the Sunday
and Monday prior to NCECA, at my studio in southwestern Indiana (about two
hours or so northwest of Louisville).
The workshop will cover some of Richard's techniques
for creating larger-scale ceramics, several methods of
sectional throwing, and techniques of working with slips,
ash glazing and single firing. Richard has been a full time
potter since 1979, making a living with exceptional work.
Space constraints will limit the size of the workshop to
ten or fifteen people. This will make for an interactive
time, with information from Richard about designing work, setting up your
studio, spraying glazes, marketing
strategies, and surviving financially and emotionally.
The studio setting is in the hills and trees of southwestern
Indiana - truly beautiful, though I do say so myself.
