Dear Craig Martell ,
I wonder if the stuff you are using would, with the residual Iron, =
metamorphose into gem grade Sapphires if you could resist the annual =
Spring Clean.
A good summary of the choices open to us. I take it you are actually =
using this stuff as shelf or batt wash rather than as a Kiln Wash.
Enjoy yourself during the Festive Season.
Best regards,
Ivor

Hello Ivor:
I don't think I'm going to be harvesting any Sapphires from my kiln. Two
firings back, I rebuilt the bagwall in the kiln and I had used this
particular wash to set all the hardbrick. So, after about 15 years of
constant use all I saw was dry white surfaces where the bricks were coated
with the wash. They did release quite easily when I removed them though.

Yes, I use the wash mostly for shelves and setters but I've used it to wash
the interior area of my salt kiln too.
