Debi -
Over the years since that column was published, quite a few people who
have built the booth have contacted me, and they seem happy with the
design. I do not know of any specific improvements, but perhaps others
will post suggestions. I'll be glad to hear any suggestions for
improvements. As you are building your spray booth, please email me if
you need clarification on anything in the instructions.

This is to Vince Pitelka and anyone else who may have used his plans
from Clay Times jan/Feb Magazine to make their own collapsible spray
booth.

We are going to construct this booth according to the plans in the
magazine and considering it has been 3 years since the plans were
published, does Vince or anyone else have any suggestions they have
found with which they either improved the design or wish they would
have done?

I am looking forward to a spray booth and hoping it will improve my
glazing as well as speed it up. Love making pots, but don't enjoy
glazing much....

Thanks so much.... and Happy New Year to all. I know you have heard
it before, but I can't count the number of good tips, seed ideas, and
chuckles I have gotten from reading all your emails.

Paul -
It's not a set of plans. It's a description of how to build the folding
spray booth and it was a Clay Times column I wrote several years ago.=20
Once I get back to Tennessee in a week I could tell you which year and
month it was.

are those plans published on-line somewhere or were they purchased directly
from Vince?
i am getting ready to re-build my spray booth, it is a project that is long
overdue, and i am interested in learning anything that could make it work
better. I have a huge tubeaxial fan i got on a trade that i would need to
mount vertically due to it's size, the location of the booth and the fact
that exhaust will be vented up through the roof. Would this work with
Vince's plans?
thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

I am not sure about the fan - in the article it says the kind of fan =20
is not as important as the amount of air it moves.

I found the plans in the Jan/Feb 2003 issue of Clay Times. I knew it =20
was there from reading entries about spray booths in the archives and =20
luckily had that issue. If you don't have access to the issue, I =20
could scan and email the directions to you (assuming I am not breaking =20
any rules by doing that). I don't know if they are published on the =20
web anywhere or not....
