For the sculptor, acrylics on clay can be a wonderful way to finish.
I have worked this way for over 10 years.
99.9% of my work is 'post-fired finishes' I started with acrylic
paints, and have added many new media to my palette over the years...
iron surfacers, color pencils, wax pigments, oil paints, inks and i am
not done experimenting yet... there are many clay artists that work
sculpturally that use alternative means to finish their work.
Christine Federighi used oils, Julie McNair works in oils, google their
names, also google cold finishes on clay, post fired finishes on clay,
acrylic on clay. For those of you that may be in Denver and
surrounding areas (Colorado) I have a working teaching studio in
denver and run workshops on a regular basis, one being post fired
finishes on clay.
my personal website is www.mariegibbons.com and my studio website is
www.evbstudio.com

in the midst of setting a big show this week, but will write again later
