Here, again, is the information about the clay extruding conference.
So far, only about 20 people have registered. I hope everyone has just
been busy with holiday activities and now that we are back in a regular
day-to-day working routine, you will go ahead and sign up. It will be
great fun and you will be sure to learn a lot of great techniques and ideas
for using your extruder.

EXTRUDIGANZA is coming to Ft. Worth, Texas, February 2 & 3,
2007.

This two-day conference will be the first all-extruder-centered
Potters Council Conference.

Presenters will include:
~Daryl Baird, author of "The Extruder Book", representative for
North Star extruders, and moderator of the Yahoo Clay Extruding
group,
~William Shinn, the demonstrator for Bailey Extruders at NCECA
conferences, and whose work is pictured on the cover of and
throughout "The Extruder Book"
~Diana Pancioli, Clayart friend and mentor, college ceramics professor,
and author of "Extruded Ceramics" published by Lark Books,
~Karmien Bowman, a longtime college professor who uses extruders
extensively in her teaching, also with work in "The Extruder Book",
~Mark Epstein, inventive studio potter and extruder die designer,
a featured demonstrating artist at the Ft. Worth NCECA Conference
(1998), and
~yours truly, David Hendley, studio potter and author of the
EXTRUDE IT! series of extruding videos, extruding articles for
Ceramics Monthly and PMI, and contributor to both "The Extruder
Book" and "Extruded Ceramics".

Other fun plans for the conference include:
~equipment discussion with the presenters as well as representatives
of extruder manufacturers,
~EXTRUD-A-RAMA, a student extruded clay exhibition,
~an extruded clay exhibition open to registrants for the conference,
~extruded exchange, pot exchange for attendees,
~dinner and party featuring music by The Extrudinaires.

Unlike many conferences, EXTRUDIGANZA will feature simultaneous
demonstrators by 3 presenters at a time. This will allow for interaction
between the presenters, and will mean that you will not have to choose
who to go see and you will not miss anything.

The conference will take place in suburban Ft. Worth, at Tarrant
County Community College, NE campus. There are two near-by
conference hotels and both offer free transportation to and from
DFW airport, only 10 minutes away.
There are many restaurants in the area, but free breakfast is provided
by the hotels and most other meals are included with the conference
registration.

Anyone who works with clay, from beginners to long-time extruders,
is sure to pick up some tips and new ideas and enjoy the camaraderie.

See the Potters Council website for more details or to register:
http://www.ceramics.org/potterscouncil/conferences.asp

Hope to see a lot of Clayarters there,
David Hendley
