Workshop Theme: Saggar Firing and Alternative Firing Techniques with White
Terra Sig=92d Surfaces

Workshop Description: A hands-on workshop where participants will learn
and practice how to fire pots with white terra sigillata in a variety of
low-fire techniques: Saggar-firing in clay saggars, Horsehair with ferric
chloride, and Chemical Fuming with ferric chloride.

This workshop requires that pots and saggars be made ahead of time and
brought to the workshop. Instructions will be sent out to participants on
how to prepare pots, how to make and apply terra sigillata and how to make
a clay saggar.

The workshop will also include demonstrations by Charlie in the following
areas:
=95 Throwing tips for even and round shapes
=95 Throwing tips for an ultra smooth surface
=95 Throwing tricks for larger pots
=95 Making and applying terra sigillata

ANYBODY who can make this workshop should do so. Charlie and Linda are
two of the Bestest Folks in the World and give great workshop.
Definitely worth your money and time if you are into the saggar firing
thing.

I just attended the rigg's workshop in walnut creek ,ca this past
weekend and i would highly reccommend it ... they love what they do
and they love to share what they do..they have great written
information so you can enjoy the demonstrations and know that when
you get home you will have the exact recipes and method written
out... you will not have to pour over your notes and wonder what that
scratching means...lol.
the sagger fired pots were absolutely amazing... when i came home
from the workshop the sun was setting over the bay and the sagger
fire pot looked just like that.. a beautiful sunset....
I hope you enjoy it as much as i did...
