Hi there! Don't know what is going on but I cannot post to Clayart. I
signed off and then signed back on and the post still did not go through. I
have lots of stuff to send Clayart about happenings and restaurants here in
Louisville but cannot get through. Here is the post I sent today:
Bernheim is a beautiful nature preserve outside of Louisville. It is well
worth the visit as it can be just as beautiful in winter as in summer. It
is about a 45 minute drive. I have copied the pre-conference information
below. The pre-conference sounds wonderful and I know Matt Gaddie and Davie
Reneau personally. Great people and phenomenal wood-firers.
"IN MATTERS OF EARTH & FLAME"
SIMON LEVIN & LINDA CHRISTIANSON
NCECA PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP
MARCH 8-13, 2007
Five days of inspirational teaching with two of the country's premiere
functional wood fired potters using Bernheim's two-chambered wood kiln.
Participants bring bisque pots to fire. Accommodations, meals and glazes are
provided. As the kiln cools, Simon and Linda will critique and discuss the
work. They will also demonstrate the hand building and throwing
techniques that make their work unique. On the final day there will be a
public exhibition and reception of the artist's work, artist lectures, and
an elegant dinner in Bernheim's "green" Visitor Center. More information and
registration form at www.bernheim.org then art, then NCECA pre conference.
