HI;
I lost in cyberspace the email address of the person talking about a Richard Aerni workshop before NCECA. Is this workshop still scheduled to take place? Would you send me more information. Thank you.
take care,

Here's an unsolicited plug for attending Richard Aerni's workshop at
Dannon's studio before NCECA....
Whatever Richard has to teach would be well worth learning. He earns his
living as a potter, so his techniques and tips are practical as well as
beautiful. His information would benefit people at all stages of learning
IMHO. And besides, he's a warm, friendly, knowledgeable person, so you'll
have a good time.
And definitely bring money to buy some of his pots, which I hope he brings
along. These pots have the amazing ability to appeal to both ceramics people
and non-potters, so they make great gifts as well as excellent additions to
your own collection.

Cyndi, here is the information re: Richard Aerni
workshop. I lost a lot of email in a computer crash
(how can that happen when I'm not even HERE?) When
I got back from a ten day trip, my current email was
just not there, along with some other files. So, if I've
failed to keep up with those inquiring re: the Aerni
workshop, here's the basic information, and please
email me (sorry if it's a repeat) off-list for additional
details dannon@ccrtc.com
Richard Aerni will present a two-day workshop on the
Sunday and Monday prior to NCECA at the studio of
Dannon Rhudy. The studio is about two hours or so
north of Louisville, in the hills of southwestern Indiana.
The workshop will be a two-day demonstration workshop focusing on Richard's
techniques for making
larger-scale ceramics. There'll be several methods of
sectional throwing, as well as ash glazing, single firing, working with
slips, etc. Richard has been a full-time
potter since 1979. Discussions will touch on designing
work, setting up your studio, spraying glazes, and any
other subjects which arise - including how to survive
financially and emotionally.
Space is limited, so the workshop will be small, lots of
face-to-face time.
