All can't be saved by sound and proven expert counsel. Idiots cater to
idiots, sell to idiots and buy from idiots. we all rise or sink to a our
level, some by conscious effort. Ocasionaly all of us do something idiotic
and even against our best intentions. However there are some folks that just
do ignorant sh-- and then dig in and insultingly defend it with their life,
but... never quit to the death. Problem? is, some other idiot comes along,
flips out some plastic, and validates the idiocy.

Mention Fine Art, Craft, Professiona Ethics or Presentation, stand back and
listen to the" well I" I" I" I" I" think" "in my Opinon" babble.

With our "Fine Clay Vessels" we all seek the "discriminating buyer with a
refined taste congruent with our's" and while I don't think some folk's work
best represents our craft and what we are trying to accomplish; do they
help good work stand out to the people I wish to know and do business with?
If the buyers understand and accept this as part of the "art" scene do we
relax and accept also? Where does apathy set in? The wolf grooms himself
but still always lives with a few fleas.

Sometimes when I walk thru an art fair or show I momentairly wish I had the
authority of the sensei to wield the smashing rod on all the mugs, bowls and
crap with unwieldly weights and handles, rough bottoms and bad form, find
and confront the jurors, (Jesus in the temple with the money changers
syndrome) followed by the thought, 'david who died and left you in
charge?'

My serenity lies in making the very best I can, contributing what beauty I
can and watching myself develope. Always with the anticipation, the
expectation, of what may be around the corner or just yet out of reach
unknown but soon revealed and soon acquired. Teaching for me is a selfish
yet humbling activity in that I recognise that more is given me than I could
ever with best effort and intention give my students coupled by the joy of
seeing them "get it" Yet every once in a while reality bulges an ugly face
in the form of a born idiot pure and simple. deal with it, let it go, get
over it, get on with it, we have pots to make, some may approach greatness.

Love you all, well... trying to love idiots, smiles
