I'm returning to pottery after many years of doing
other things. I have a studio with an electric kiln,
but I'd love to fire my pieces in reduction, as I used
to do. I don't have the $ or space for acquiring or
building my own gas kiln at the moment. Thus, I am
looking for a small studio in the greater Boston area
where I could bring my work and share firing in a gas
kiln, or even rent the entire kiln and fire it. Does
anyone have suggestions? I'd be glad to participate
in some kind of community setting, though I would
prefer to use my own studio to make the work in.
I do know about Mudflat and Harvard Ceramic studios -
excellent places, but they are quite large and busy
places, and more structured and oriented towards
teaching than what I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance,
Kathleen
