I have a 19 amp kiln single phase Paragon medium small kiln that I am
attempting to use in a new location while I am out of my real studio.I have a 10-2
line and a plug that seems to allow for 3 wire but the kiln has a 4 wire
plug.Is there a DIFFERENT cord that will allow me to safely fire this? I do not
feel comfortable changing out the recepticle.

The Paragon A & B Series Instruction and Service Manual
covers electrical installation of Paragon 4-wire kilns. It
is 48 pages, so we scanned it in three separate pdf files.
(Or you can download the entire manual in one file.) Online
manuals:

Pdf files are convenient if you use a manual for reference.
But if you are going to print the manual on an inkjet
printer, it would be more economical to order a paper copy.

A 4-wire kiln will operate on a 3-wire outlet. However,
Paragon does not recommend this, because the line neutral
should be separate from the grounding wire at the wall
receptacle. This is because the line neutral carries current
on Low and Medium.

Arnold Howard made an important safety point:

The 4 wire system has a separate lead that runs
directly from the case of an appliance to the ground
bus on the service entrance.
If the appliance has current flowing through the
white ground and you connect the case to that
same ground at the appliance, in the event of a
ground fault of any kind, it is possible to be
electrocuted so don't alter the plug configuration
in this kiln. Follow his recommendations.
