I always use a piece of "pellon" on top of the
bottom canvas. Place your clay on it and the top
canvas on top of the clay. The pellon gives you
a smooth surface on your slab. By gently rolling
the pellon off of the slab you can reuse this
piece of pellon for months. You will have to get
it at a fabric store-get the medium weight.
