Looking for an easier way to understand and mix glazes? This may be the
workshop for you!

In this workshop internationally renowned artist Ian Currie will take
participants through the Systematic Recipe Method (or the Grid Method)
that he has developed. Being a recipe method, it is accessible to all
regardless of their understanding of glaze chemistry. Students will
have the opportunity to mix glazes using this method, fire tests and
then discuss results individually and as a group. On the second day
there will be lectures designed to expand the student's understanding of
the method and glaze theory in general. There will also be a slide
lecture giving a guided tour to the different sorts of glazes using the
grid framework. =20

Ian Currie lives and works in Queensland, Australia. He has been
studying and working with clay and glazes for 40 years. He is best known
for developing the Systematic Recipe or Grid method of mixing glazes.
The method is a very efficient systematic technique that quickly reveals
glaze principles while discovering beautiful glazes. He has written two
books "Stoneware Glazes: A Systematic Approach", and "Revealing Glazes -
Using the Grid Method" (Bootstrap Press) which have become standard
references to ceramists everywhere. He has been invited to speak at
several NCECA conferences and done many workshops throughout the US and
Europe. For more information on the artist please visit his website at
