I think this question got lost over the weekend? I did check the archives,
but couldn't find anything about this particular glaze.
I guess I should do a search on this, but I was wondering if anyone had used
this glaze. Man, this glaze is thick! I stirred it up really well with a
little whisk and then shook the crap out of it. When I brushed it on, it
started cracking as soon as it dried out. The cracks flaked off at just a touch.
I'm sure some of you experienced ppl know more what I'm talking about than
I do...
Anyway, I tried diluting it, thinking I'd just do more thinner coats. Tried
just a small area to see what would happen. The first coat went on fine, but
after the second coat dried it started cracking and flaking too.
Is this one of those things that would be fixed with a brushing medium, or
whatever that additive is called? I haven't tried dipping with it, since I
only have a pint, that would be difficult, and I'm thinking it might still
crack.

try 2 - 3 grams of cmc powder per pound of dry glaze (10lbs dry =
20-30 grams) in a little water (1cup or so) let sit a day or two, mix
well and then add to glaze.
Or got to (http://www.lagunaclay.com/support/howto/glmix.htm) for more info.
Also there is a product called brushing medium that can be added to a glaze.
Hope this helps

If your glaze is crackling when it dries, it is most likely
too thick. You should call Opulence (their number will
be in CM ad, no doubt) and talk with the technician/glaze
maker. I'm sure they will help you - it is their glaze.

Might still have been too thick.
