hi ron,

i just read in the new CM that you mentioned
about the recent findings about manganese in
the drinking water.
how much manganese do we have in our cities'
drinking water, do you know?

Hi Marta,

Not much I think - you would be able to taste it and it's not nice. There
is more now than ever because they are putting it in auto gas.

The study was done in Bangladesh - some populations have to drink what they
have - no mater how bad it tastes. On page 161 in our book we have the US
water standards - Secondary Standards (Unenforceable) for manganese is 0.05
- copper 1.0 - iron 0.3 etc.

The question now is - what level are you comfortable with leaching out of a
glaze?
