I'm a bit chagrined to admit that we've lost the information associated
with a beautiful teapot we purchased sometime around 1996-1998 and
probably in Tennessee (not totally sure of this but definitely purchased
in the mid-west ... Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Tennessee,
Georgia, etc. ). For reference, with the handle it's 12 3/4" tall.
We'd love to
re-gain knowledge of who the potter was/is who made this. You can see
the teapot at http://www.flickr.com/photos/clayart/390682307/ . Any
help in making the connection would be most appreciated.

Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,

I searched using Google with the words "teapot vine handle" (without the
quotes, in this particular case) and found an entry in the Purdy Museum of
the American Ceramic Society:

http://www.ceramics.org/purdymuseum/exhibit4/e40354a.asp

The potter is Laura Ross of Prospect, Kentucky.

The pot on the above web page is -very- close to the one you have.

Lovely work, lovely style. No wonder you want to re-identify the artist.

This looks to me like a Laura Ross piece. Of course, I may very well be wrong. Good Luck.

Hi Karen,

You are exactly right, Laura Ross. Two other Clayarters also pointed me
in that direction and you all were correct. Here's the url that
clinched it.

Thank you very much for taking the time to help me with this. It's a big relief to have finally re-made the connection. Turns out Laura Ross is presenting at NCECA this year. Wish I could be there.

Bob
