Joyce: I am glad you brought up the subject of trying different things with some raku pieces. I have about 6 pieces that I have kept even though they didn't come close to what I had in my mind when they were 'raku'd. There are several others that I have enhanced with a little rub and buff but mainly, I want the glaze colors and combinations to speak for themselves. I know that refiring in oxidation will reoxidize the body but I have wondered, as you, if reoxidation would improve the pieces even though the clay body is no longer black. I have friends with a raku kiln. They have firings I can attend, maybe twice a year. I try to make notes about changing some of the results on the fired pots. Did you use any more glaze on that pot?

I just may try one or two pieces in the electric kiln. Sooooo many things I want to try but seems I can cram 48 hours into 24.

Looking forward to seeng you at NCECA !!
