the best conservation is firing any kiln
so that all the pots are perfect.
you decide what is going to work for you.
the resulting firing will be the test.
then you waste nothing.
over stacked kilns...every inch filled.
but, then 20 pots are underfired, glaze runs.
but, they think they did perfect conservation.
not. if the pots are not worth anything, you have wasted
that space in your kiln.
same for fast firing...if you do not get perfect results,
do it another way. every kiln has a mind of its own.
that schedule does not come from a book. it has to be
your schedule. what works for perfect firing...in your opinion.

i never overstack...i save those pots for a perfect firing next month.
why destroy perfectly good pots?
