Thank you to all who responded to my post about kaolin, ball clay, and
Byron Temple Orange. I now know quite a bit more than when I started. :-)

Plasticity, purity, strength, color, relation to crazing and crawling,
references to look up, you covered it all! I really appreciate it. I love
Clayarters - you are all so generous with your time and knowledge. Since I
came at ceramics from an art perspective first, it is taking me awhile to
catch up on the science end of things. I wish I had been exposed to
pottery while still in high school - it would have made my chemistry
classes much more interesting!

It seems not many of you have used the Temple Orange glaze. I did a test
batch of it this evening, and will be firing it next week along with
several other glazes I have made over the past month. If anyone is
interested, I will gladly post photos of the test tiles.

For those who were curious, yes, the temmoku recipe I have is Ron Roy's.
Now that I have more info, I can't wait to try it out! Ron, I must say,
what I have seen of it looks absolutely beautiful!!

Many, many thanks,

Stephanie
