I have a similar glaze that turns to Black with gold flecs.

Try with two to three good coats. Use Floating Blue Base.

Recipe Name: CHAPPELLS FLOATING BLACK

Cone: 6 Color: Black with gold flecs
Firing: Surface: Glossy

Amount Ingredient
47.3 Nepheline Syenite
27 Gerstley Borate--1999
20.3 Silica
5.4 Kaolin--EPK

100 Total

Additives
2 Rutile
1.5 Cobalt Carbonate
4 Iron Oxide--Red
2 Manganese Dioxide

Very nice smooth glossy black that will be transparent where thin.

The next time I try it I want to increase the rutile and manganese by 1% to
see if I get more specs. Be careful with the manganese.
