I lost the little pin thing that keeps the brush gadget turning in my
talisman sieve. (It holds the brush holder to the knob stem.) Can I replace
it with something from the hardware store? What should I look for to
replace
it?
Thanks a bunch!

It's called a cotter pin and you can get one at any hardware store.

I have a related question. My Talisman has been in service for many
years and the part that holds the shaft of the handle as it goes down
through the cross bar is shot. The handle is very wobbly as I turn
it. Has anyone fixed theirs? There must be some sort of gasket. I
haven't asked any suppliers about this yet...

Just ask for a cotter key or split pin. They are standard issue.

I have one of those seives, and if I recall correctly the thing you lost
is the cotter pin? I'll bet you can get the right size cotter pin at the
hardware store.
