mug exchange at nceca - exception allowed?

I don't have any mugs available at this time,
so, does anyone object to my submitting something else in the exchange,
other than a mug? It will be a nice piece.

A thought about the exchange - think of others who will get your mug ........
is it one you'd be happy to have someone receive it?

I received a piece once and the person who made it said to me:
"It's not a very good piece". It wasn't!
Please don't put one of your "losers".in the exchange.

Kurt:
I don't consider anything I make "a good piece". I've only been at it for
16 years or so. But that won't stop me from trying. Someday, I might even
improve...who knows?

I never worry about whether or not it is a mug. In recent past, someone
suggested the name be changed to the "Clayart Thingy Exchange" because it
has been pointed out that some people just don't make mugs. Just make it
fit the bag.

Art(as you know) is subjective.
Even if I (personally) think a piece is awful, I'll just smile and thank
the creator, tell them how "interesting" it is.
At least they tried.
That's worth a lot in my book.

Best,
Wayne Seidl

Kurt,

I won't have a mug either, but what I bring should fit inside a paper
bag and be okay. I'm a virgin, so I may not know what I'm talking
about. And, okay will have to be good enough...

Kurt -

Anything you bring will be fine, you know that! Just make sure it fits in the bag!

Fitting in a 6/9" bag is the main thing to try for.

I hope Maurice will be chiming in to remind people of the guidelines
and details. Any Muggettes out there?

Hi Kurt,

Your work is so beautiful, I am sure anyone would love to have a piece of
yours, whether it be a mug or something else!

Look forward to seeing you.

Hell, I almost never bring a mug. What fun would it be if everyone brought
mugs? I've missed NCECA for the last two years, so I'm bringing something
special.
