Hi all!
Thanks again for all the suggestions pre-purchase and the new postings I've seen from others have been terrific as well.

I think I'm going to love it (after the below named problem is solved). It's nice and small and very quiet and will definitely serve my decorating and trimming purposes and when necessary, I can just put it in the closet! I did of course try throwing with it (6 lbs.) and for that I would really need to have it set up on something very stable and low as a stationary wheel would be - I really need my upper body to center.

Unfortunately, the wheel wasn't functioning properly - the motor really balked at slow speed (impossible to trim and very difficult to center properly for trimming); it jolted and chugged whether I used the foot pedal or hand control. I contacted Creative Industries and they asked if I would be willing to allow them to send me a replacement part to install. She didn't name the part but said I would need to unscrew the bottom and unscrew something inside and screw in the (hopefully) good part. I agreed to this since it would be more convenient for me than to have to take a day off of work to make the "exchange" of a whole wheel via UPS.

Hope that wasn't a mistake - your thoughts appreciated. My usual inclination would be to return a product that wasn't functioning perfectly from the get go.

Happy potting!

Liz
