nceca mug exchange - any muggettes out there??

updated tue 13 mar 07

Jennifer Boyer on thu 8 mar 07

I'm a little nervous that no muggettes chimed in about whether non-
mugs are ok at the mug exchange. Maurice was supposed to take the
exchange leadership over from me, but he's not answering emails, so
maybe he's away from home. Has he been in touch with any muggettes??

I have a crisis brewing at home: our town, Montpelier, VT is in
danger of having a flood when the weather warms. I co-own a craft
gallery (http://artisanshand.com) downtown that is theoretically
above the flood plain in a newer building that is safe, but a flood
will effect us even if our gallery is safe. I'm coming to NCECA,
leaving my partners to handle the home front, but want to be able to
fly home if needed. So I can't take the exchange over even if no
planning has been done.

I will be bringing bags for the mugs and I can bring the posters that
I have from previous years for the Clayart room. I'm hoping Logan is
bringing the tickets from last year. I'll bring a stapler.

SO. Has anyone heard from Maurice? Please sooth my fears....I'm
headed to Chicago to visit my son tomorrow, and will be home for a
day before going to NCECA. I hope someone else will do some followup
about the NCECA mug exchange....making sure muggettes are lined up
and that instructions are posted to the list before we all leave for
NCECA.

Sorry to be a nervous nelly but everyone around here is on edge since
we had a flood in 1992 and REMEMBER how awful it was...........

Jennifer, it has been eerily quiet on Clayart, regarding the
mug exchange. Very odd. In fact, I have been wondering if
it is even going to happen, as I've seen no mention of it.

After many years of being in charge of the mug exchange, I
have kept quiet (kind of like Geo. Bush not commenting on
George W.'s adventures), but, gee, someone needs to let the
rest of Clayart know what is going on, publicize the exchange,
and make sure the details are worked out.
I guess people just expect that it will happen and it just
kind of plans itself.

I'm a little worried that something has gone haywire in Maurice's
life. He agreed to take this on, but I guess it's a no-go for some
strange reason.
If I haven't heard from him by the end of today, I will post last
year's info to the group, and whoever has agreed to be a muggette can
meet up 30 minutes before the event to prepare for it. It's not very
hard since the kinks have been worked out over the years. Believe me,
I CAN'T take the helm at this time. Life is too frazzled with the
looming flood and my travel plans. I'll post to the group tonight
with info.

I signed on to be a Muggette this year, but since I've never participated in the
exchange before, I have been waiting to hear more. All I've seen are the things
Jennifer sent to us. I've been assuming it is going to happen and that further
instructions will be coming. Perhaps I should be more proactive?

Hi all;

I originally offered to help with the mug exchange and communicated with Jennifer Boyer about helping. My offer still stands. Just tell me what is needed. I will be at the clayart room at 5pm on Friday unless someone tells me differently. I am staying at the Galt. Looking forward to next week.

I, too, volunteered to become a new mugette and haven't heard a thing. However, I realize that things get crazy close to event time and am making an assumption that if you are volunteering to help with the exchange then show up at the Clayart room at 5 pm on Friday night. If I am wrong, please let me know.

I am staying at the Galt. My cell is 802-272-2904. I will be in Louisville as of Monday night.
