I am coming to Ireland in May and would love to visit some Irish
potters. I've been a potter for 30+ years . My grandmother was born
in Belfast Ireland. Any suggestions for B&B would be appreciated.

Marcus Mahoney or maybe O'Mahoney...google search for him...he offers workshops, too. I came across him as I was searching for Irish potters one day.. good luck!

Linda - you didn't say what parts of Ireland you will be visiting. If
it's Belfast, you're actually going to Northern Ireland. I did a bike
tour of the Dingle, Iveragh (Ring of Kerry), and Beara penninsulas in
September, and there were pottery studios and Irish craft shops almost
everywhere - with signs along the roads and in the towns that made it easy
to just stop in. That area, however, is a big tourist area along
Ireland's southwest coast. The Louis Mulcahy Pottery is in Ballyferriter
on the Dingle penninsula and is an interesting place to visit. It is a
production pottery. You can visit the workrooms during certain hours, and
they have some interesting very large vases on display.

Some of the people on our bike tour had spent a week in Ireland on their
own. They simply found B&B's as they drove around the countryside -
didn't need reservations in advance. But if you search the web, you will
find sites dedicated to tourism in the various parts of Ireland with
listings for lodgings.

Ireland is a great place to visit. Hope you have a good time.
