Hi to all, Does Blythe have a web site, I can't find it on Google.
Stains cost a fortune here in Oz and I was thinking of going straight to a
manufacturer and buying some of my favorites in bulk, I fire to cone 9 in
reduction.

I think the company that owns Blythe is Johnson Matthey Colour Technologies:
http://www.colour.matthey.com/
"(The) company was founded over 100 years ago in both England and the
Netherlands. Operating under the name Blythe Colours, it quickly grew to
become a successful international business, joining the Johnson Matthey
group during the 1950s")
For Australia, queries are to be directed to:
Johnson Matthey Ceramics (M) Sdn. Bhd.

See also: a partner company called Dip Tech:
http://www.dip-tech.com/SiteFiles/1/295/1614.asp
("DIP-TECH Glassjet DIP Tech is the leading supplier of inkjet digital
printing systems for the glass industry. DIP Tech develops, manufactures and
markets inkjet digital printers and ceramic inks for a wide variety of glass
applications.")
I wasn't able to ascertain whether the Blythe Stains are still made, though
perhaps the ceramic inks would be comparable...
Good luck!

Dear Sam Kelly ,
Blythe Stains were available from Tony Martin, Claze Pottery, PO Box =
124, Morisset New South Wales, 2264 and the phone number was (049) =
731930.
Not sure if they are still trading. I bought a set of samplers which =
included all the shade cards. But that was twenty years ago.
Hope you have some luck,
Ivor

Hi Sam
Blythe has morphed into Johnson Matthey as Helen Bates has said.
http://www.colour.matthey.com/
I can still buy Blythe overglaze stains from Pottery Supplies. I feel
that they are still using the original colour mixes as everything still
looks and behaves exactly the same. Johnson Matthey 13 and 14 series
underglazes and glaze stains seem to me to be the same as the original
colour charts that Tony Martin? sent out all those years ago for =
trials.
I do know that all the colours can be easily mixed proportionately from =
all
those percentage mixes that they published using the basic primary =
colours.
If you do not have access to the colour charts let me know and I will =
scan
them for you.
Ceramaglas D=E9cor in Victoria
http://www.ceramaglasdecor.com/pages/223454/index.htm
handle Johnson Matthey and they also have a colour chart with %age
proportions on them for mixing onglaze colours but they are very similar =
to
the underglaze %age proportions.
Cheers
