I came home from NCECA and hit the ground running and have not really
had too much time to post about my NCECA experience. I've enjoyed
reading all the posts about NCECA and there's not too much for me to
add. The programming was great, and I was proud of seeing so many fine
Clayarters sharing their knowledge, showing their work and generally
having such a strong presence at this conference. Of course, the
vendor's hall was wonderful as usual, as a place to see people, learn a
few things, and maybe spend a little bit too much money. (Who, me?)
Louisville is a great town, and I just LOVED the Art Hotel.

The Clayart show was amazing, thanks to Billie and Nan for pulling it
all together. The opening was such fun, with great food and great music
by our own David Hendley. I bought a very cool vase by Doris
Fischer-Colbrie.

The Clayart room was, as usual, fabulous. What a joy it is to see old
friends...too many names to mention here, and I'm sure to leave someone
out if I try to list them. It's a real treat to see new faces....and
fun to give a big hug to someone you never met in person before, even if
it might be a little scary for the recipient. (Taylor, yes, I am
talking about you). And it's just delightful to spend time with
Clayarters you might not have known that well previously....you get to
know them, and you sure are happy you did!

I am fortunate to have the best roomate in the history of the
world...Gail Dapogny.

I also wanted to publicly thank Lois Wilkens for her generosity in
allowing me to use her studio make make a few things for the clay
exchange and trading. It's hell being studioless (not much longer now!).

Not much else to add at this point, except I love you all, and can't
wait see everyone in NOLA!

And I learned how to make and use terra sig, and participated in my
first barrel firing. See who's generous? I'm so happy Lori will be able
to get her studio organized in Atlanta -- and so sorry it's so far from
Pennsylvania.
