Well, it's been a busy week here in reality land post NCECA.
Guess lots of folks are suffering the "Post NCECA Blues" (Do I hear a new
song David?) while others suffer some NCECA virus.

Carol Fox - did you ever get home?

Arrived home late last Sunday, after stopping straight from the airport for
a friends birthday bash. It was ok, gave me a chance to slowly wean myself
from the alcohol.

Up early Monday for a full day of teaching. Thank goodness most of the
students were recovering from their own spring break. My other students
never went on spring beak, they stayed and worked in the studio all week!

Just finished planting the early spring garden - lettuce, spinach, carrots,
broccoli - plants & seeds - all the while doing the clay thing I've grown to
care about the least - the bisque firing. We throw & trim - the pots look
great at that leather hard stage, then, as far as I'm concerned, it's all
down hill from there. Then they get all dried out & fragile - like many of
us Clayarters ;^). Then it's the bisque firing where they emerge like bones
dried out in the desert. Then after the glaze firing, their shiny coats hide
the blemishes and make them look like a model - so many folks have such a
hard time looking beyond the surface.

Thank goodness for our Clayart get togethers at NCECA where surface means
nothing - it's the warmth, the caring and the willingness to share all we
know. Already thinking about next year.

So Mel, ya got that damn hotel in the Big Easy lined up yet? ;^)

Yes, Bill. I did finally get home, though it sure wasn't easy. I was back
and forth to the airport so many times that on the last trip out, they took
me in a shiny black limousine! I had to take a plane to Washington, DC and
then a train up to Wilmington, DE. I don't even want to know how much
additional money I spent on the extra hotel nights, cab fares, etc.

I was lucky to spend some of that extra time with Jacqui, Steve Slatin, Jim
Bowen, Gail Phillips and Tim Frederich.

It's easy to see why everybody loves Lori Leary. Count me in, too!

Thanks, Bill, for your company and showing me the ropes of element
connectors. I loved seeing your work, too!

NCECA was a great experience for me- learned a bunch, got lots of
inspiration and hung out with some awesome people.
