It would be great if you would post some of those responses to the group.
I would also be interested in some of the terms that people have
for people who buy from their ceramics businesses. (Wholesale, retail and
shipping.) I know that this is a big request - If it is easier to just
send me a brochure I would really
appreciate that. I am in the process of putting together a brochure as
well.
Thanks, Meg in Boulder,Colorado

Please send me information on what you might have in regards to a
guarantee/exchange/return policy AND also how to care for your pottery
information would be useful. I am in the process of developing a
brochure--I would appreciate any input that you would share with

Dear Meg,
I had a problem with a person who tried to return to me a failed baking
dish that I hadn't made. She had received it as a gift, and included with
it was my ovenware instruction card! [ I suspect that a store I had sold
pots to had given my card when the baking dish was purchased. I haven't
wholesaled in about ten years! It could have been one of several stores -
and it could have been a copy of my card] I had to explain that I hadn't
made the piece and that my signature was different, etc.

Therefore, make sure your instruction card has something that relates to
your work on it, and especially if you are going to wholesale, check into
the policies of the store. I really don't like the idea that there are pots
failing out there that are being attributed to me.

Nice glaze, though...

Meg,

I allow people to bring back/exchange whatever they are unhappy with whenever th
please. The same goes for galleries that carry my work. Goodwill is priceless
almost impossible to recover once lost--a casserole or bowl can be made any day.

Having said this, I've had almost nothing returned.

Having said this, I was awarded the nickname "Aerni Gump" at a recent fair becau
made a sale to someone who brought it back an hour later in pieces. My craftfai
neighbors, having watched me wrap and pack this platter up very carefully, were
when I got out the guy's check and gave it back to him without question. It hur
inside, but these are rare instances, and I'd rather be on someone's good side t

If you'd like to see a copy of my gift card/care instructions, just email me you
address and I'll send you one.

Meg and Marshall,

My work is guaranteed. If it is not sold within one year of purchase (and
if it is displayed during that time) it can be returned for credit. This
policy has served me and my customers well. The are always happy to have
the option and if it is returned, I can always make use of the piece
somewhere else.
