Hi All.
Anyone have a reliable grey glaze for cone 10? I've been trying to add Mason
stains to my base white but they come out too blue. I've seen a grey glaze
before, so I know it's possible!
TIA

Jennifer,
I used to mAke a semi-matt grey (as well as a lot of other colors) when I was
doing ^10 reduction from Rhodes Magnesia Base.
Custer Spar 45
Ger. Bor. 13
Dolomite 7
Talc 15
EPK 5
Silica 20
Then add 1- 8% Iron Chromate, depending on how dark a grey you want. The
grey will be slightly greenish.
Hope this helps.

I don' t know what clay body you are using. If it is stoneware then look up
a good Barium carbonate glaze using approx 25% barium.
