Hi Folks,
I belong to a small co-op in Leverett, Ma. We're interested in building a
30-35 cu ft downdraft gas kiln or (gas/wood) Does anyone have plans or know
of a good resource book? Also looking for burners. Thanks in advance.

I have just completed construction of Nils Lou's design for the Minnesota
Flat Top kiln published in his book "The Art of Firing".

This is by far the best kiln design I have ever seen/fired.

Burners are available from his company, Clay Pacific.

He is on this list, but knowing Nils, is far above recommending it to you
himself.

His book also revolutionized my perceptions of Gas Firing. I got very
nice reds on the first fire.

You might find this book " The Big Book of Ceramics by Joaquim
Chavaria a Watson Guptill Publications/New York 1993 pages 56 - 65
informative. There are pictures, plans of the kilns and how it
works...etc..in the book, Good luck
