Hey all,

Will be in Portland, OR from April 5-8 and am looking
to meet woodfiring potters, see kilns and craft centers.
Any tips or advise about who, where, what to see?

Much thanks, James---

>Hi There Jessie. I'm here on the Oregon Coast in Astoria... 2+ hours from
Portland. There is a wood firer here named Richard Rowland He has an
anagmama commonly known as "The Dragon Kiln" out by Young's River. His
address is Rt. 1. Box 624 Astoria and his phone number is 503-325-0184. I
don't really know him but, from what I've haerd he is a very nice and
welcoming kind of guy. If you're planning to come to the Coast (i.e.
Seaside, Astoria or Cannon Bech), you might want to give him a call. We got
wood here. Cedar is common as well as hemlock, sitka spruce doug fir and
alder, but, from what I've heard he'll burn anything anybody shows up with.
I pit fire in wood but not this time of year but you're welcome to see some
pots if you're out my way.... Emily
