remember, most insurance companies are `local`. things vary
a great deal from state to state, region to region.
the first step is always speaking with the agent that carries
your home owners policy....see if you can boost your liability numbers first.
product liability is a very strange beast. see an agent you can trust. there
are no `general national ideas`.
shino.
just remember, shino is a maverick glaze. had a chat with our dear friend
malcolm davis a couple of years back....i said, `how's it going with your
dear friend shino?` he said...`can't get it...it won't work...`
then connie christiansen called me...`i can't make shino work`.
now, these are two great shino potters. if you love shino, these are the types
of potters work to look at...admire..drool over. if they lose it, what hope
is there for other mortals?
they both got it back. with a great deal of effort. but, the big problem
was...are they sure they know what went wrong?
they fire the same, use the same glaze formulas...same glaze. no shino.
same thing has happened to me. fire the same, use a new batch of
shino..measured right...same clay. icky shino. in fact i quit making it.
just too much mystery. when it is good, it is wonderful...when it is bad,
you can't wait to hammer it.
so.
maverick it is. if you like sticking pins in your eyes...well, shino would be
for you.
mel
there are some folks that have it zeroed in. know how to make it work
every time...see and talk to them.

Hey, Mel, can I get Shino insurance?
Thanks for your input, everybody. Keep it coming! I'm learning a lot.
