of folks looking for =3D0Amentors & no where near enough mentors to go aro=
d.=3DA0=3DA0 I couldn't =3D0Athink of a better place to look for people wil=
ling t=3D
o help.=3DA0=3DA0=3DA0 Some =3D0Afolks are looking for help with :=3D0ASkil=
ls & Techn=3D
ique=3D0ABusiness sales 101 (how to begin)=3D0ABusiness plans=3D0AMarketing=
=3D0ACritiquing work=3D0AHow to Publish=3D0APhotographing work=3D0ABook rec=
ions=3D0AWebsite review=3D0ASpecific firing techniques=3D0AGlaze help=3D0AJ=
ust=3D0A t=3D
o name a few things.=3DA0 This is no different than what we do every day.=
=3D0A These folks just need some one on one time by phone or=3D0A=3DA0e mai=
l or i=3D
f=3D0A you are geographically close enough even in person if both parties w=
t=3D0A that.=3DA0=3DA0 You don't have to be a teacher at a school with a ha=
nd ful=3D
l of =3D0Adegrees. ( not that any of these folks would be turned away from =
e =3D0Aprogram)=3DA0 All you have to do is be willing to share=3D0A what yo=
=3DA0 already learned with people that don't know what you know =3D0A.=3DA0=
=3DA0 If=3D
you can't answer a mentee's question maybe you can=3DA0 guide them in=3D0A=
right direction so they can find an answer themselves.=3DA0 You never =3D0=
tell,=3DA0 the person you help may be able to help you solve a problem =3D=
u've been having with something or inspire you in a direction you =3D0Ahadn=
considered.=3D0A=3D0APlease don't let the word mentor scare you =3D0Aaway.=
=3DA0 I =3D
"shared what little I knew" with a wonderful gal who posted to =3D0AClayart=
y answering some questions & it turned out she was a clay =3D0Anewbie that =
s just hired for an art teaching position in a school =3D0A& had inherited =
a =3D
ceramics program included in=3DA0 the art classes. =3DA0=3DA0 =3D0AIt would=
take me=3D
days to express how good I felt knowing I was helping =3D0Aher keep both h=
& her class safe , fun and cost effective for the =3D0Asmall school she wa=
s =3D
teaching at.=3DA0 At the time neither of us=3D0A thought of what we were do=
ing =3D
as mentoring.=3DA0 I was "just sharing" what I=3D0A had learned with a frie=
nd &=3D
helping her keep things safe for her =3D0A& the kids.=3DA0 Not to mention =
ugh her I helped teach & =3D0Ainfluence the next generation of clay artists=
maybe even =3D0AClayarters .=3DA0=3DA0 I can honestly say there is no bett=
er rew=3D
ard or =3D0Acompensation than knowing I've actually done something (& will =
=3D0Acontinue to do)=3DA0 for the future of the medium that I love & that's=
