looking for ceramics resources in santa barbara

Hi! Anyone in Santa Barbara, CA on the list that can help?

I'm going to Santa Barbara next weekend on a "check it out for a possible
relocation" excursion and I'd like to know what's happening with clay there
- schools, studios, guilds, artists, galleries, etc. Will also be looking
for good vegetarian restaurants, cool cafes & bookstores, rep cinemas,
animation activities (shows, talks, courses), biking information, and the
"what not to miss in Santa Barbara".

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I'm not in Santa Barbara but spent much of my childhood there. It is a
wonderful city but you may find it expensive. First contact I suggest
is Otto Heino in the Ojai, call (805) 646-3393. He can get you in
touch with the Ventura Potters Guild which has members in the Santa
Barbara area. Also check with the community college ceramics
department. One place I never miss is the Natural History Museum on
Mission Canyon Road, right behind the Mission. Also, take a stroll
through the Botanical Gardens at the upper end of Mission Canyon Road.
Downtown, wander through the civic center and visit the Art Museum. It
is on State Street, I believe.
